  • The Commitment:
Mental health is an integral part of our overall well being emotionally, relationally and physically. Nurturing your mental and emotional health allows for greater life satisfaction, meaningful connections, and authentic living. Engaging in therapeutic work may not always feel good or easy as you work through the various aspects of your life. However, some people report feeling a sense of relief and freedom when they are able to release painful experiences and thoughts that have negatively impacted their lives. Therapy takes commitment, intentional effort and consistency. It is personal and confidential, with exceptions required by law in cases of imminent harm to self or others, including vulnerable populations (e.g., children, elderly, and persons with disabilities). Regardless of the type of service you select, you will get the most out of therapy if you are open, honest, and committed to doing the necessary work. Success and progress are often reported with active engagement and participation. Therapy is a valuable investment into discovering your best life.
  • Private pay or Insurance:
We accept both Private pay and select Insurance plans. We kindly request that you contact your insurance provider to verify your benefits and coverage prior to scheduling. Many people inquire whether or not they should utilize their insurance for therapy. While every person has a different situation and financial need, here are some things to consider when making the decision. Insurance companies (i.e., managed care) place certain requirements and restrictions on your care, determining: (1) number of sessions and frequency of visits, (2) in-network providers you can select from, (3) requiring clients to have a psychiatric diagnosis, (4) periodic audit or review of your treatment progress, (5) what is “medically necessary”, and/or (6) time limits for resolving your presenting concern(s). It is also possible that some therapeutic services, telehealth services, and diagnoses are not covered or allowed under certain insurance plans, and some plans have high deductibles, coinsurances, or out of pocket maximums before the insurance company will provide reimbursement. These limits and restrictions may challenge your ability to choose what is best for you and in the end may not serve to be as cost-effective as it originally seems. Private pay may be the decision for you if, after considering the process of managed care, you would like to choose the therapist, determine in collaboration with your clinician the best journey for your goals, and are able to pay the full session fee up front. A good faith estimate will be provided, as applicable by law. If your insurance plan has out-of-network benefits, your plan may reimburse you directly for a percentage of the full session fee, after the deductible is met. Upon request, we can provide you with a special receipt, known as a superbill, that you can submit to your insurance provider. The Legacy Center, PLLC and associated clinicians are not responsible for out-of-network billing or reimbursements.
  • Payment Options:
We accept cash and all major credit/debit cards (a processing fee will apply) – MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) & Health Savings Accounts (HSA) cards. Personal checks are not accepted. Cash payments are due no later than 15 minutes prior to the start of service, and credit card payments are due at time of service. A valid credit card must remain on file for all clients, regardless of your preferred method of payment. For additional information about payment methods, please contact our office.
  • Telehealth:
Telehealth is simply the use of technology to provide virtual therapeutic services. Virtual appointments are scheduled and conducted through a secure HIPAA-compliant platform with the use of your computer, tablet or cellular phone. High-speed internet and a web-camera are required for video conferencing appointments. Telehealth allows for a convenient method to access therapy and may present an efficient option based on time and location constraints. We offer in-person and telehealth services for local residents, and telehealth services for all Texas residents. Evening and Saturday appointments are available for greater schedule flexibility.
  • Cancellation Policy:
When you schedule an appointment, it is your appointment to keep, reschedule and/or cancel, when needed. Because this is valuable time reserved for you, if you are unable to attend your session, please be sure to cancel no later than 2pm the prior business day (i.e., before 2pm on Friday for Monday appointments). You may cancel through the client portal or by calling the office. If you provide a cancellation notice after the requested time frame or do not attend your session, you will be charged the non-refundable full rate of service (plus applicable processing fee). Keep in mind that the financial commitment is not just for services rendered, but for reserving a session which cannot be offered to someone else on short notice. Please remember that late cancellations and no shows prevent others from receiving priceless life-saving therapeutic care. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
